Allen Beal Memorial 5K Race

United States Army 1st Sgt. Allen Beal (Ret)

The Full Press Apparel VetFest 5K will renamed in 2012 to the Allen Beal Memorial 5 K race by Full Press Apparel. Race sponsor Full Press Apparel announced the name change after the passing of United States Army 1st Sgt. Allen Beal (Ret).

A lifelong Tallahassee resident and charter member of Veteran Events in Tallahassee Inc., Allen Beal formed the organization in early 2010 to take over control of the Parade after the 2009 cancellation.

Beal, who became V.E.T. Inc’s first Parade Grand Marshall in 2010, was very active in the community as a mentor and counselor for drug addicts and alcoholics as well as being very active in the Big Bend Veterans community.

His legacy of service to the community will now be remembered annually.
