Volunteer
Volunteers are vital to the success of the Veterans Day Parade. Assistance is needed for the Parade, the Allen Beal Memorial 5K Run and VetFest II. Individuals and group volunteers may choose from the following assignments on the day before and the day of the Parade,. The Parade will be held Monday November 12,2012.
Event Planner and Marker [Sunday 11/11 - 3:30PM to 7:30PM] Help marking out both festival vendors in the park and parade participants areas on Call Street
Event Setup [Monday 11/12 - 6:00AM to 11:00AM] Help with the setup of the festival area, including vendors, playground, and display areas
Runner Assistant [Monday 11/12 - 6:45AM to 10:00AM] Help with the 5K run by working the start / finish line, assisting race officials, or working intersections as crossing guards. In addition, some will need to work water stations.
Staging and Safety Helper [Monday 11/12 - 7:30AM to 11:00AM] Help stage parade participants by placing in correct order and maintaining safety and control at intersections.
Refreshment Team [Monday 11/12 - 9:00AM to 1:00PM] Operate 15 beverage sale points along the parade route
Route Walker [Monday 11/12 - 9:30AM to 1:30PM] Hand out small flags and programs along the parade route
Hospitality Crew [Monday 11/12 - 10:45AM - 4:00PM] Work three beverage stations, supply vendors with ice, and act as crossing guards between the parks, while also supervising the children’s play area
Pack Up Crew [Monday 11/12 - 3:45PM to 8:00PM] Oversee the dismantling of the vendor and display areas. Will be physically intensive.
