Saturday May 19th is Armed Forces Day and will be the day that The Big Bend Area residents and business’s alike will have the opportunity to tell all those who have served and are still serving since the attack on our Country on September 11, 2001, thank you for protecting our Freedom.

Its said that when someone puts on the uniform of any of our Armed Forces, they are writing a check to the United States of America, payable in the amount of up to and including their life. These are the heroes who offer there lives to see that we remain a free Country and they all certainly deserve our thanks.

There will be several events that day highlighted by a Parade of those Veterans and Active Duty members of our Armed Forces, beginning in The Tallahassee/Leon County Civic Center and proceeding East on Madison St. to Bronough. Left or North on Bronough past the World War Two Memorial, our newest group of Warriors can say thank you to our oldest group of Warriors. On to Pensacola St, where the Parade will turn left or West and end back in the Civic Center Parking Lot.

More information is forthcoming on sponsoring organizations, related events and activities.
