Vet Events Tally is proud to announce a partnership with The American Veterans Traveling Tribute to bring the Cost of Freedom Tribute to Tallahassee on Veterans Day 2014. This one of a kind outdoor tribute pays respect to veterans, active duty military, law enforcement and firefighters; anyone whose daily job is to put themselves in harm’s way, to protect and defend our way of life, in locations around the world or here on the home front.
The outdoor Cost of Freedom Tribute includes an 80% size replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall that is 360 feet long with a 14-flag display flying over the Wall. Name Locators are available to assist in finding names on the Wall.
Additional displays in the Tribute include a 190-foot long display honoring all recent Veterans and Active Duty personnel, our First Responders, those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 as well as over 45 display boards honoring our Veterans from the Revolutionary war to the current conflicts in the Global War on Terrorism.
The Cost of Freedom Tribute will require approximately 80,000 square feet to display and will be located at Tom Brown Park. The City of Tallahassee Parks & Recreation is partnering with Vet EventsTally to prepare the site for the arrival of the Tribute in early November 2014.
The display will be open to the public 24 hours a day from early morning Friday November 6, 2014 through the Closing Ceremony on the afternoon of November 11, 2014. Many schools in our area will be partnering with Vet Events Tally to provide educational outreach to our young people that will include lessons on flag etiquette, the role of veterans in our community and field trips to visit the Cost of Freedom Tribute.
Vet Events Tally is honored to bring the Cost of Freedom Tribute to Tallahassee as part of the 2014 Veterans Day Parade activities. We are counting on the support of the entire community to help offset the costs of this Tribute as well as to provide the volunteers needed to staff the display around-the-clock during its stay here in Tallahassee. Never before has a display of this importance and magnitude visited the Big Bend region – we hope that it will provide an opportunity to raise awareness in our community of the true cost of the freedom that we all cherish.
