United States Army 1st Sgt. Allen Beal (Ret)
The Full Press Apparel VetFest 5K has been renamed in 2012 to the Allen Beal Memorial 5K Run. Race sponsor Full Press Apparel announced this after the passing of United States Army 1st Sgt. Allen Beal (Ret).
A lifelong Tallahassee resident and charter member of Veteran Events in Tallahassee Inc., Allen Beal was an active contributor in forming the organization in early 2010 to sponsor and promote the Veterans Day Parade.
Beal, who became V.E.T. Inc’s first Parade Grand Marshal in 2010, was very active in the community after retiring with over 20 years military service. He was very active in the Big Bend Veterans community, as a member of the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 96 and the American Legion Post 13. Also, was a volunteer, mentor, and counselor for recovering addicts.
In memory of his legacy of serving our community, he will be remembered annually during our Veterans Day celebrations.
